The Double Arch Master
The Double Arch Master
Author: Dazey Kakez
We all know that iHeartBBW Model, Makana Moon has a back arch that just don’t quit – but did you also know she is also a master when it comes to making Balloon Arches??? For those that haven’t attended a kids birthday, baby shower engagement party or any other celebration over the last 5 year – A Balloon Arch is just that… a giant ass arch made out of a ton of balloons. According to Canva “A balloon arch is a decorative feature typically made with colorful balloons arranged in a curved arch shape.” You know, because the name itself isn’t descriptive enough, obviously.
These Balloon arches are often used to decorate special events and occasions and thanks to social media, they continue to get more and more elaborate. You would think that the shopping list for Balloon Arch would be: Balloons and… Air. But what you might not know is that you sometimes also need ribbon, glue dots, confetti, flowers, blood, sweat, tears. The list continues…
However the great news for you is that our very own Arch Master Makana will be giving a demo on How to Build a Balloon Arch this week on iHeartBBW Live on Youtube!
If you want to follow along and build your own – here are the items you will need:
-Balloon blower: Otherwise RIP your lungs
-Balloons: Approximately 100-150 for an L arch. Varying sizes 5”, 10”, 14-18”.
-Balloon strip: long plastic strip with holes for balloon placement
-Balloon dots: glue dots to attach/stack tiny balloons
-Rubber bands: skinny office ones are fine, to attach bundles to your base
-Ribbon: to hang/anchor your arch
Additional items that can be helpful or cute include
-Photobar: I use mine for backdrop themes and easy transportable anchors, especially with locations you can’t use tacks
-Greenery: things like greenery, flowers, themed Mylar balloons can be super easy to elevate your arch
Makana said she prefers to order combos/kits on Amazon cuz they include balloons, ribbon, strip, dots and often other miscellaneous things like balloon tying tools or flower balloon clips. The kits usually range from $10-20 and come in thousands of themes. While they can seem intimadating and daunting – they are a super cute addition to any party.
We can’t wait to see what Makana has in store for us – speaking of store, check out our merch store and purchase your very own iHeart Balloons!!!
